Filming begins on Man Of Steel 2.

Recently, there has been discussion on whether the film dubbed Batman Vs Superman would film within the next month.

Now we can confirm that the Man Of Steel’s production is underway in Michigan thanks to reports from locals describing spotting Henry Cavill around town. He has posed for photos with the public and apparently has been quite open about what he is filming.

According the , Cavill has revealed the following:

1. Principal Photography has begun on the Man of Steel sequel.

2. Superman is sporting the beard. (Mario-Francisco Robles at Latino-Review assumes this means Superman is in exile)

3. Henry Cavill said he will be filming for the next 10 MONTHS! (Justice League? Anyone?)

4. Henry Cavill is currently on a strict training regime.

Interesting? Maybe the film is indeed filming back-to-back with Justice League?

DC Universe news.

There have been a few tidbits of information from Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Henry Lennix and a VFX supervisor on Batman Vs. Superman.

Affleck (when asked working with Zack Snyder) : “Well, I don’t want to get too far afield and I’m sure I’ll have time to talk about Batman down the road. What I’ll say is that I really like Zack. From what I’ve seen of what’s Zack is doing, it’s made me very excited. One of the nice things about being an actor in that movie is they show you all the stuff before anyone else gets to see it. So all the sort of world-creation, and the take on the character and the other characters is really exciting.”
“And at the end of the day, the truth is it’s really directors that make movies work or not — especially these kinds of movies, where it’s about the whole world, and a rising tide lifts all ships. And if it all has integrity, if it all has a sense of realism, then it works. And if it doesn’t, than it doesn’t really matter what everyone’s doing [on the screen] because they just look like a bunch of Mexican wrestlers in suits.”

Cavill (on Easter eggs in Man Of Steel) : “On the extras on the Blu-ray, we’re going to get the opportunity to see Zack’s references to other aspects of the DC Universe. There’s one obvious one which is now particularly obvious because of our next installment, which is involving Batman as well. We see Bruce Wayne Enterprises on the satellite in space. We also see some references to LexCorp. I actually have no further knowledge of this next story, but there’s a good chance Lex is going to be introduced soon or at some stage.”

“What really intrigued me was Dr. Emil Hamilton’s connection to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both superhumans and humanity in a different way to Batman. So I don’t know where he’s going to come in or if he’s going to come in, but that’s one I’m particularly excited about. Other references I’m not too sure on, but we’ll see where those lead. Those with keen eyes will see them.”

Lennix (on announcing the sequel at Comic-Con) : “It was all in real time, and the audience was playing catch-up to the mysterious weight of this reading. Just to be a part of that and to really be going on auto-pilot was just surreal. It was like an out-of-body experience. I couldn’t see anybody out there, just because of the nature of the configuration, but I could feel them. It’s like having sonar. You could feel this wave of energy coming up, the lights black out, and then I went off stage. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. When’s the next time I’m ever going to be able to say that Batman and Superman are going to be in the same movie. That’s crazy!” Then when asked whether he would be in the sequel Lennix said: “I have some confidence that I’m gonna be in the next installment”

VFX supervisor John Desjardin:
“I was working on Batman-Superman right before this interview, a lengthy discussion with Zack looking at a bunch of drawings he’d made on his whiteboard that charted some iconic representations of… well, of things we’re going to have to try and do. Zack told me two weeks before Comic Con exactly how he was going to present the Batman announcement, and it was exactly the way he did present it. I got chills up my spine. What I want to get out of this movie is helping Zack tell a satisfying version of these characters, a version that nobody has seen on screen yet, but when audiences watch it they’re going to say “That’s what we always wanted to see but we hadn’t seen it yet.” Touch wood, because we have a long way to go, but the course is charted and we’re set to bring those ideas onto the screen, that something we haven’t seen before.”

Adam Driver denies being cast as Nightwing in Batman Vs. Superman.

‘Girls’ star Adam Driver has denied being considered or cast as Nightwing in Batman Vs. Superman.

The rumor, originating from TheWrap, said Driver and two others were being rumored for the part.

These were Drivers comments on the subject: “That’s like intensely flattering as you can imagine. I mean, it’s Batman and Superman, who doesn’t want to be involved in something not only of that scale but of who those characters are. That’s an incredible world to be able to be in for a bit. Like who wouldn’t want to do that?”

Since the Driver rumor is now false, it’s a big possibility that the Nightwing rumor is false also. This would be great news for the movie, which has enough comic book characters as it is. Although i would love to see a Wonder Woman cameo by Jaimie Alexander.

What do you think of Driver’s comments? Do you want to see Nightwing in a movie soon?

What DC Cinematic Universe movie do you think they will announce yet?

Elizabeth Olsen confirmed as The Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Elizabeth Olsen has been confirmed as The Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

The 24 year old actress spoke to MTV and confirmed she was in the upcoming sequel.

Personally, i think Olsen is a fantastic actress on the rise recently with roles in Spike Lee’s Oldboy and the new Godzilla movie. She has great screen presence and has the looks to pull of the enigmatic Scarlet Witch. Seeing as though she has already worked with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, i think they will have great chemistry as the brother/sister pair.

When asked whether she had seen any concept art or costumes, Olsen replied: “No, I just know about it. It’s been talked about, and it’s so fun.”

Are you an advocate of Elizabeth Olsen? Who would you have cast as Wanda Maximoff?

Let me know in the comments!

5 things the Batman Vs Superman movie needs to get right.

2015 will be a huge year for movies, with The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Terminator 5, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Antman and potentially Star Wars: Episode VII.

One movie that people have doubts over is the untitled Batman and Superman film, what people are calling Batman Vs Superman or The World’s Finest. Man of Steel was intended to be the start of the DC Cinematic Universe eventually leading up to the Justice League movie. There were both positives and negatives which came out of it. The critics didn’t click with it and some complained about the overuse of action. However, fans seemed to love it and it performed quite well at the box office. I personally liked it, i thought in some stages it was exhilarating and powerful but sometimes i felt it needed to slow down, especially in the second half of the movie.

If Batman Vs Superman is going to be good, it needs to get the following things right:

1.) The balance of action.

A common criticism against Man Of Steel was the non-stop and slightly wearing action of the second half of the movie. Batman Vs Superman needs to balance this factor through allowing the story to breathe. Batman Vs Superman could become a critical nightmare. I believe Goyer has a great script going, and if utilized properly by Snyder, we could have a great movie on our hands.

2.) It needs to let go of Christian Bale’s Batman.

I personally think there is no way they can top the way Batman is portrayed in The Dark Knight trilogy, but they can’t let themselves try and reproduce the formula that Christopher Nolan used so well. Affleck is a much different person to Bale, and i think this will show in his performance. I think that Affleck will floor everybody. He has matured over the last few years and has made wise decisions with his acting roles and his directing. He wouldn’t have chosen this if he didn’t think he could pull it off.

3.) Humour

Another part of Man of Steel that was criticized was its lack of comedic relief. With Batman now thrown into the mix, the sequel is set to get a hell of a lot darker. One of the reasons The Avengers clicked with audiences was because of its banter between the main heroes. I’m not saying that they should go all out on the laughs, but perhaps create some banter between Batman and Superman, a little like Batman and Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

4.) A truly formidable and intimidating villain.

ImageI didn’t find General Zod to be a very intimidating villain, i almost found Faora to be more formidable than Zod. If the rumours are true and they do cast Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor, than he can’t be what Kevin Spacey was in Superman Returns. Cranston has already proved he can be an intimidating character as Walter White in Breaking Bad. The villain must be powerful and intersting to contrast against the dynamo of Batman and Superman.

5.) Expanding the DC Cinematic Universe.

Seeing as though they are including Batman, than this point is something they are already getting right. They need to have references to Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash. Possibly follow in the same vein as Marvel, with having an after credits scene teasing the next movie. Hopefully Warner Bros. will announce future DC movies with new characters but for now, this is the perfect way to build up to a Justice League movie.
